What we collect when you enquire, why we need it, where it goes, and how to get it back.

What we collect

When you fill in an enquiry form on this site we collect exactly what the form asks for:

• Your name, and a company name if you give one.
• Your email address and phone number, so we can send a quote and a proof.
• Your event date, and the venue or delivery address if you ask us to send it somewhere.
• What you want printed — the items, sizes, materials and quantities you select.
• Anything you type in the notes, and any images you upload as inspiration.

We do not ask for and do not want payment card details through this website. If you call us and pay over the phone, card details are handled by our payment provider, not stored by us.

Why we collect it

To quote your job, to design and proof it, to make it, and to get it to you. That is the whole list. We do not add you to a mailing list because you asked for a quote, and we do not pass your details to anyone who might.

Who else sees it

Running a business means using other companies' software, and some of it holds your information. Ours are:

• Netlify — hosts this website and receives form submissions. United States.
• Resend — sends the email that tells us you enquired, and the confirmation we send you. United States.
• Help Scout — the inbox we answer you from. United States.
• Google Workspace — our email. United States and elsewhere.

That means your information is stored overseas. We have chosen established providers who publish their own security and privacy commitments, but you should know it leaves Australia. Beyond these, we share your details with a courier or freight company when we send your order, because they need an address to deliver to.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no advertising cookies, runs no tracking pixels, and has no analytics installed. Nothing on it follows you to other websites. If that changes we will update this page and say so.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and order records for as long as we need them to do the job and to meet our record-keeping obligations — generally five years, in line with what the ATO requires of business records. Inspiration images you upload are kept with the job they relate to. [CONFIRM: retention period]

Getting it back, or deleted

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@eventsigns.com.au or call 0415 743 691 and we will come back to you within a reasonable time, and at no cost.

If we have made something for you, we may need to keep the order record even after you ask us to delete other details — tax law requires it. We will tell you if that applies.

If you are not happy

Tell us first — info@eventsigns.com.au. If we cannot sort it out between us, you can take a privacy complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
