How we print acrylic

We print acrylic on a UV flatbed, which lays ink directly onto the sheet and cures it instantly. The same machine runs a white ink channel, and that matters on acrylic more than anywhere else: on clear acrylic, colour printed without a white layer behind it looks thin and see-through. We lay white as an opaque base under the colour, or as the lettering itself, so the design stays solid on a transparent sheet.

Which acrylic for which job

Clear — floating lettering on a welcome sign or seating chart, where the room shows through behind it.
White — a solid, bright base for full-colour artwork and logos.
Frosted — softer than clear, hides fixings and smudges, and diffuses light nicely if lit from behind.

Acrylic signs, not just wedding signs

The same process makes logo panels, display signs, menu boards, table numbers, award displays and product stands. Tell us where the sign is going and how it will be mounted — on an easel, on a stand, or fixed to a wall — and we will finish and cut it to suit.

Sizes and shapes

Single panels print up to 1.2m × 2.4m, and we cut acrylic to any outline in-house: arches, circles, scalloped edges, logos. A shape cut to a custom outline costs more than a rectangle, but there is no extra supplier involved, so it does not add days.

What it costs

As a guide, an A1 welcome sign — about 60 × 90cm — generally runs from $50 to $200 inc GST, and acrylic sits towards the upper end of that range, with mirror acrylic higher again. Size, shape and quantity move it most. Send your size, artwork and quantity for an exact quote.

Looking after acrylic

Peel the protective film off just before the event, not before transport. Clean with a soft, damp microfibre cloth and avoid paper towel and household glass cleaners, which can scratch or cloud the surface. Store it flat or upright in its packaging, never leaning on something sharp.
