What is the difference between a vinyl and a mesh banner?

A vinyl banner is a solid printed sheet. A mesh banner is perforated so wind passes through it rather than pushing against it. Use vinyl indoors or on a solid wall, and mesh outdoors or anywhere it is fixed to a fence.

What size is a standard pull-up banner?

Most pull-up banners are 850mm or 1000mm wide and around 2 metres tall once extended. The base and pole are included, so it stands on its own and packs back into a carry bag between events.

How long does it take to print event banners?

Standard turnaround is 2 to 3 business days to dispatch from artwork approval. Banners are printed and finished in-house in Melbourne, so urgent jobs can sometimes move faster. Confirm your event date when you enquire.

Can event banners be used outdoors?

Yes, with the right material. Mesh banners and outdoor-rated vinyl handle weather and wind. Solid vinyl fixed to a fence in an exposed spot will catch wind like a sail, so tell us where the banner is going before we specify it.

Do you print banners to an expo specification?

Yes. Send the venue or organiser spec sheet with your enquiry and we will print to those exact dimensions and finishing requirements rather than to a generic size.

Which banner do you actually need?

Pull-up banners — self-contained cassette base, sets up in seconds, packs into its own bag. The default for conferences, expos and registration desks.
Vinyl banners — hemmed and eyeletted, hung from a frame, fence or truss. Best where you need a large area cheaply.
Mesh banners — perforated so wind passes through. The right choice for anything outdoors or fixed to a fence.
Tension fabric — printed fabric stretched over a frame. No glare and no creases, which is why it photographs better than vinyl.
Teardrop flags — freestanding and visible from a distance, for entrances, car parks and outdoor events.

What banners cost

Pull-up banners start from $75 inc GST including the cassette base and carry bag. Vinyl and mesh banners are priced by area, so a large one on a fence costs less per square metre than a small one. Tension fabric sits above vinyl because of the frame. Send your sizes and quantities together — running several at once is normally cheaper than pricing them one by one.

Indoor or outdoor?

It is the first question worth answering, because it decides the material. Indoors, tension fabric and pull-ups look the best on camera. Outdoors, wind is the problem rather than rain — a solid vinyl banner on a fence acts like a sail, which is what mesh exists to solve. Tell us where it is going and how long it needs to survive.

Banners are printed, finished, hemmed and eyeletted here. Nothing is brokered out, so the colour on your proof is the colour that prints, and a late change does not mean starting again with a third party.

Fence banners

A fence banner is usually mesh, sized to a fence panel and cable-tied through the eyelets along its edges. They are the standard at sporting events, festivals, fun runs, markets and construction hoarding, because mesh lets the wind through instead of turning the banner into a sail. Send the fence panel size and how many panels and we will print them as a set.

Teardrop flags

Teardrop flags are printed fabric on a curved pole, freestanding on a base. They are visible from a distance and move in the wind, which is why they work at entrances, car parks and outdoor events where a flat banner would be missed. Tell us whether they are going on grass or a hard surface, as that changes the base.
