Invitation Printing

We are a print house, not a template shop. Send us your design, or your stationer’s, and we print it properly — on stock you choose, at any quantity, including one.

Event Signs prints invitations, save the dates, RSVP cards, menus and on-the-day stationery from our Ravenhall workshop in Melbourne. Digital and white ink printing, no minimum order, standard turnaround 2 to 3 business days to dispatch from artwork approval, with same day printing available on artwork approved before 1pm.

What we print

Anything that goes in an envelope or sits on a table:

Send us your design, or your stationer’s

Most of what we print is somebody else’s artwork, and that is normal. If you have designed it yourself, or a stationer or designer has designed it for you, send the file and we will print it. We are not going to try to sell you a design you already have.

Print-ready means a PDF with fonts outlined, images at 300 dpi at final size and 3mm bleed. If your file is not quite there we will tell you what it needs before we start, not after.

If you do not have artwork at all we can design it — but that is a separate step with its own timeline, and plenty of our customers never need it.

White ink, which most printers cannot do

A standard four-colour press has no white. It lays cyan, magenta, yellow and black onto white paper, and anything that looks white in your design is just the paper showing through. The moment your stock is black, navy, kraft or coloured, that stops working.

We have a physical white channel, on both the flatbed and on card stock. That means white ink on dark invitations, printed as ink rather than foiled or screen printed — which is why a lot of stationery quoted elsewhere as white on black comes back as something else entirely.

Names printed automatically, not by hand

We print with variable data, so a hundred invitations carrying a hundred different guest names is one job, not a hundred. Same for place cards and table numbers. There is no per-name setup cost, and a late change to the guest list is a text edit rather than a reprint.

No minimum order

We will print one invitation if one is genuinely all you need — a replacement, a sample to hold, a keepsake. The per-unit cost is higher at that end, obviously, but there is no rule stopping you.

What it costs

Invitations run from about $0.50 to $10 each inc GST, and quantity is the biggest lever — the per-unit price drops sharply as the run grows. Place cards start from about $0.10 each inc GST. Stock, size, finish, and white ink on dark or coloured card all move the number. Send your quantity and stock and we will quote it exactly.

When you need it yesterday

Standard turnaround is 2 to 3 business days to dispatch from artwork approval. If your date has moved or a supplier has let you down, same day printing is available on artwork approved before 1pm, subject to capacity and carrying a surcharge. Ring 0415 743 691 before ordering rather than after — an honest no is more use to you than a maybe.

Most online stationery sits on a two to four week lead time. That is the gap we fill.

Printing for stationers and designers

A good share of our invitation work is trade. You design, we print, your client never hears from us. We do not put our name on your work, we do not contact your client, and you are free to resell at whatever you charge — you own what you buy from us. If you want to test the quality before committing a client to it, ask for a sample.

Frequently asked questions

Can you print invitations I designed myself?
Yes, and most of what we print is somebody else’s artwork. Send a PDF with fonts outlined, images at 300 dpi at final size and 3mm bleed. If the file needs work we will tell you before we start rather than after.
How much does invitation printing cost?
Invitations run from about $0.50 to $10 each including GST, and quantity moves it more than anything else. Place cards start from about $0.10 each. Stock, size, finish and white ink on dark card all affect the price. Send your quantity and stock and we will quote it exactly.
Is there a minimum order for invitation printing?
No. We will print one if that is genuinely all you need. The per-unit cost is higher at that quantity, but there is no minimum stopping you.
How fast can you print invitations?
Standard turnaround is 2 to 3 business days to dispatch from artwork approval. Same day printing is available on artwork approved before 1pm, subject to capacity and with a surcharge. Call before ordering so we can tell you honestly whether your date is achievable.
Can you print white ink on black or coloured card?
Yes. We have a physical white channel on both the flatbed and on card stock, so white prints as opaque ink rather than being foiled or screen printed. That is what makes white on black, navy or kraft actually work.
Do you print invitations for stationers and designers?
Yes, and a good share of our invitation work is trade. You design, we print, your client never hears from us. We do not brand your work and we place no restriction on reselling it.
